History: Our Lady of Lourdes Church ( Thingan Aing Parish ) Rev. Fr. Naude in going arround foung suitable mango grove at Thinganaing. Which 8 miles away south-east of Hinthada. He built small hut there with the help of two karen boys who had accompanied him and contacted the people of the arroundings. By his persevierance and confidence in God, within ten years he had consolidation of 1000 persons. The church and residence were erected 1871. School for children of both sexes followed. Fr. Naude never return home but remained at Thinganaing till his death on 2nd June 1907. He was succeded by Fr. Heraud. The congregation had risen to 1489 persons. Now Fr. John Ko Ko. |
