The Mother Superior and Counselors of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Francis Xavier leased a circular letter to all fellow nuns on August 28.
“We encourage you all to continue to survive with God and Pope Francis’ words whatever situation you are in,” stated in the letter.
Quoting the Pope’s words, it is said, “Our Xavierian Congregation is still as pretty as the leaves of the tree although their color is changed and serving God.”
The letter continues, “Pope Francis warns us to remember the changing situation which has its meaning. It makes us aware that facing many problems and confuses makes us show that we all are still strong.”
As the Pope encourages us to confront and continue to live with patience without any grumble by prayer not only for ourselves alone, but to be united with Christ, we have to survive with the knowledge that God himself is with us always, according to the circular.
“The birthday celebration of the Blessed Virgin Mary will come soon. Welcoming her birthday by preparation, let us imitate her virtue of humility. Imitating her, we are giving the best birthday present to her.”
It is added, “Let us practice the difficult virtue with Mary’s help. Let us acquire the peace that we want most. Let us strive for our desire and the good.”
In the circular letter, it warns all the nuns to make penance for the sins of the world in trouble and suffering by imitating the humility of Mary and to appeal to God to lead and guide them in the present situation as He did to the Israelites for forty years by making the sun set and rise.
“Let us be aware that it is for us a great opportunity that the poor are near to us, and let us serve them with the spirit of poverty to try to be Christlike.“
In its conclusion, the letter invites all the members to participate worthily in the birthday celebration of Ma Ma Mary, which will come soon, and said, “let us send a decorative birthday cake to her by praying short prayers, reciting rosaries, and fasting. In addition, let us ask God for Mother Superior’s intentions to be answered through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.”
The circular letter is monthly sent to all the members of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Francis Xavier who are working across Myanmar and abroad according to Sister Patricia May Oo Khaing, SFX, the first Secretary.
Sister May Oo Khaing, SFX, told Ayeyar Alinn that the intention of releasing a monthly circular letter is to strengthen the unity and to inspire all members who are physically far away from mother house and superiors to live their chosen life fully alive and serve the church and people of God in divine spirit.
