History: Our Lady of Assumption Curch ( Chanthargone parish )
The mission arrived at Chanthagone since the year 1860. The first chapel was built for the village was built in 1990, when Fr. Kane was assigned his assistant priest to rebuild the new chapel of the village. When the mission was oppressed in Myaung Mya in 1924, Fr Gabriel the assistant priest of Fr. Paschal came and resided in Chang thar gone for two years. It has been established as a parish in 1997. Now there are 435 families and catholic population is about 2610. |
